Not only does Alan Swoffer possess an uncanny likeness to his hero, but he is also a highly gifted entertainer who brings the unique persona of John Lennon to the stage in an amazingly accurate portrayal. About the band:

Here are some brief biographies for the members of the "Lennon Legend" band:

Andy Dawson. (Lead Guitarist)

Andy started his musical career at nine years of age playing the piano, after two years he realised that the piano was not his musical forte and changed to the Guitar.

Andy joined his first band at thirteen in his home town of Blackwood, South Wales, playing rock covers as well as some of his own original material.

Andy went on to form numerous bands playing original material, getting recognition from news papers and radio stations.

Andy Finally moved to Spain in 1999 and formed a 3 piece Rock & Blues Band called DV8, followed by the 5 piece Rock/Pop Band, TOCA.

Toca went on to gig all along the Costa Blanca, playing live on Exite F.M Radio and headlining at the 2007 European Cultural Festival.

Herb

I was introduced to drumming by the drummer of a local group my friends and I used to go and see regularly at the community centre when we were in our teens. I got to know him quite well and one night he invited me to have a bash about on his drums.I was totally hooked.This drummer's name was Johnny Keane, better known in later years as Thunderclap Newman who had a big hit in the charts.

I bought a kit and joined a small local band and as I got better I began moving from one group to another better band. Eventually I was seen by the bass player of John Mayall's blues breakers who was about to join Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band.The band was reforming due to a split.

At the time I was playing with an 8 piece soul band in the evenings and working during the day. I did a British tour with the late great Edwin Starr, also backed the original Ben E King & The Drifters, The Soul Sisters, a small studio practice session with Eric Burden and the Animals and did a cabaret spot with Peters & Lee. I have had recording studio experience and session work. I was asked to come for an audition with Geno which I did not think I would get due to the fact i was the only semi pro drummer auditioning.This was a sought after position and several pro drummers applied. Against all the odds I was picked to join Geno's band.

When Geno's band finally disbande I played with several semi pro bands again & went back to a day time job. I came to Spain in September last year, selling my drum kit as I was told there was no work here.

After a year in the wilderness without a drum kit I am thoroughly enjoying  playing again.

Chippy

Chippy started life as a classical double bass player, he joined the British Army and took up Bass Guitar and played all around the world with a British Army band, playing with the Blue Rockets.

Chippy also played in various venues around the London area backing Shirley Bassey and the 3 degrees On one night deps.

On leaving the Army, Chippy went to Jersey and played in various bands and backed Cabaret artists. But Bitten by Rock music he always veered towards Rock and pop.

On moving to Spain he has played in a number of bands One of those being Toca which opened the European Cultural Festival 2007.
